Bad Listeners Don't Grow Their Businesses
A post I read on LinkedIn earlier in the week.
"Once you're at $1m ARR, listening to your customers should help you get to $100,000,000."
The point is that your customers know what the next small step that could drastically grow your business and it's unlikely that it's you.
They use your product for 10-15 minutes a day and you, well you're in it, seeing all the moving parts and actually moving AWAY from being able to innovate, well, unless you've got A players in every part of your organisation, which is very rare.
How do you listen better?
- Pick up the phone, Zoom, put your guard down
- Be prepared to lose all your customer battles if they speak up
- Don't hide behind email
- Pour through NPS scores and feedback spreadsheets, hell I don't care how you store this, you can get it cleaned if it's messy
- Build a Facebook / Discord / Telegram real-time community and test ideas rapidly
If you do this, I swear you'll as they say 'have your ear to the ground'.
